Ham Radio 1961: FLARC to Activate Original Station in Historic Event

As part of its 2018 Speaker Series, The Fair Lawn Amateur Radio Club’s August program will recreate a part of club history by putting a replica of our original 1961 Novice station on the air. The equipment used will be a Heathkit AT-1 transmitter, paired with a Hallicrafters SX-99 receiver. Both units were manufactured in the 1950s.

Fred Belghaus W2AAB will be the club’s August presenter and demonstrator. The program will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 starting at 7:00 PM at the club’s facilities at the Fair Lawn Community Center,  10-10 20th Street in Fair Lawn, NJ. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served and a tour of the station and its five operating positions will be available.
