Latest HT with double discount !

For our newbies looking for a cheap way to get on the air, and use the FLARC club repeater, I just became aware that Baofeng has a 10% discount code that is still in effect (I just used it!!)

For example, the latest UV-82 V2+ 1w / 4w / 7w dual band (2 meters and 440MHz) HT is listed on their website for $59.99, but when going to their Amazon store page it is now $44.49 BEFORE the 10% discount code; after the code it is a mere $40.04. And if you have PRIME membership, there is FREE NEXT DAY shipping! Totally amazing!

The page for the UV-82 is at
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018RMTA1M?m=AM1AKWRN957PC

The discount code is BFNGNEWS

Now there is almost NO reason for any member to not be on the FLARC 2 meter repeater …

(hey, I get no rebate or discount or anything for posting this … just can’t let it go unmentioned.)

Why this one??? Shape is weird. Are all batteries, etc backward compatible?

Why this one? well, it is the newest model and has a higher power output than previous UV-5Rs, for one thing. Mainly my post was to make everyone aware of the 10% discount code while it is still available (I did not see any cutoff date shown).

As for ‘backward comparability” I did not look into that, but I did post the web page with all the technical descriptions so if the answer to your question is available, it’s on that page.

Shape is ‘weird’? Compared to what? Maybe the shape is ‘futuristic’ !!

I must admit this manufacturer does NOT make it easy to easily recognize the next *state-of-the-art” Product they put out and on top of that they put out variations of those models frequently really confusing the already confused purchaser.

The UV-82 is not tri-power, it is 1 or 5:

High / Low Power Settings (5W/1W) Programmable Amateur Radio
Frequency Range: 65-108 MHz (Only commercial FM radio reception) VHF: 136-174 MHz(Rx/Tx). UHF: 400-520 MHz(Rx/Tx)
Customize Channel Names, the Boot Display and More by Using the PC03 FTDI Programming Cable
1800mAh Battery; Broadband (Wide) 25khz / Narrowband (Narrow) 12.5khz Selectable
AUTO Keypad Lock, Dual Band, Dual Display and Dual Standby

You said: “The UV-82 is not tri-power, it is 1 or 5”
Well, if you had gone to the LINK that was posted in the original article here you would have reached the page for the UV-82 v2+ and if you read the specs on that page you would have seen clearly that this model IS tri-power, with the highest power rating being SEVEN WATTS.

As I said, “I must admit this manufacturer does NOT make it easy to easily recognize the next *state-of-the-art” Product they put out and on top of that they put out variations of those models frequently really confusing the already confused purchaser.” Your point proves my point. By the time I was finished clicking about and going to the Baofeng site for even less clarity, I made my conclusion and, therefore comment. I appreciate your correction. *Drops Mic*
